Finding Insights
How to use Insights
Insights is Polymer's analytics tool & report builder. Click the '+ New Block' button to select a visualization. This can be a classic chart from the 'Visualize' section, an advanced method to explain data from 'Explain', or a rich text block from 'Other'.
With any of these selections, you will choose fields from the drop downs in the left sidebar. The left sidebar can also be used to delete, duplicate, or reorder blocks.
Once you've found some insights or built a report, you can save that as a view to revisit it later or share out to others.
How to use Suggestions
Not sure what charts to build or what insights may lie in your data? Use Polymer’s suggestions to automatically generate visualizations. Our AI takes into account optimal operations, slices, and combinations of data to give you a new perspective.
Find suggestions in the main screen of the Insights tab or within each block’s settings in the left sidebar.
How to use the Outlier block
Outlier targets one specific variable in your dataset and shows you which categories have the greatest influence on that metric’s performance. Choose the metric you’re interested and then which columns should be used to break down the data.
The results will show you all of the outliers, or fields that perform highest above, and lowest below average.
How to use the ROI block
ROI is a block that can be used to calculate a return on investment. The idea is that in many cases, you may need to find segments of your data that optimize for two variables rather than one. And while this can of course be used to find a traditional ROI, optimizing for high revenue & low cost, you may also be curious about which ad is giving the lowest cost per click.
Select a maximize metric (the numerator) and a minimize metric (the denominator), then which influencing column by which you want to view the data. Polymer will display the "ROI" for each of these influencing columns.
