Presenting data
Data layout options
The Data tab has two layout options: Grid and Gallery. You can change this from the drop-down below your header in the Data tab.
The Grid layout is similar to how you would view data in a spreadsheet. You'll see a table with columns and rows of data. From this layout you can perform some column settings.
Gallery layout presents each row of your data on a card. On each card you can select which columns are presented, display an image, and expand the cards to see a full view of the information. This is often a good option for users looking to share content or resources with their audience.
Customizing a Gallery presentation
The fields displayed on your card in the Gallery layout can be customized to your liking in the settings menu.
From 'Field settings' you can choose a title, description, and other tags (or pieces of data) you'd like featured on the card. The card can then be expanded to show the rest of your data. Use 'Expanded card settings' to customize how data is ordered on the expanded card as well.
Presenting images in a Polymer App
You can present images in your Polymer App if the dataset contains images.
First, add a column to your dataset that will contain the images. Then, add a link to an image in the appropriate rows. Make sure the images are hosted somewhere publicly accessible.
When you load your data into Polymer, you will see those image links appear as images. If you see URLs instead of images, you will need to change the data type of the column to ‘Image’ instead of ‘URL’.
Adding personal branding to a Polymer App
Polymer allows for a few different branding options.
You can add a personal logo to the top left corner of the screen in place of the Polymer logo. This can be added from the "Page Attributes" section of your settings. This section also allows you to add your brand's name as the page and browser title.
Otherwise, you can customize the header of your Data tab by clicking 'Customize Header' or add custom branding with rich text blocks in the Insight tab.
